My training and experience as a researcher, a developmental psychologist, a clinical psychologist, and a forensic psychologist, a decade of involvement in research on resilience, and my passion for assisting other human beings have prepared me to help you.
I provide diagnostic assessments, psychological evaluations, and psychotherapy services for children (infants and toddlers, school-age children, adolescents) and their families, and for adults. Parental guidance and family therapy components are an intrinsic part of my treatment of children, as needed. My orientation is integrative as I see the whole person and the system she/he is a part of, and I may rely on behavioral, cognitive, psychodynamic, psychosocial, and mind-body-heart-spirit approaches to tailor treatment to your specific needs at a specific time. I also use psychodynamic play therapy to work with very young children, as play is their language. If needed, I will help your family deal with parental separation or divorce.
I enjoy providing forensic services: psychological evaluations of children and adults, parenting capacity evaluations, custody evaluations, and personal injury evaluations to family, juvenile, and civil courts (when I am not involved as the therapist for any family member). I also provide consultation services for prosecuting and defense attorneys and their clients in cases of allegations of child maltreatment, reviewing forensic interviews of children who have alleged sexual abuse, physical abuse, or psychological abuse.
