Rates effective January 1, 2019:
Psychotherapy services are charged $150 for 45-minute sessions and $190 for 60-minute sessions, and prorated based on the hourly rate of $190 for longer sessions. The first one or two visits for psychotherapy services may last up to two hours as they are usually dedicated to a thorough diagnostic assessment, and the cost is prorated. Longer therapy sessions are desired by many individuals and families. The cost of sessions that last more than 60 minutes is prorated in 15-minute increments to facilitate reimbursement by insurance, if wanted.
Psychological testing, report writing, and other activities related to psychological evaluations are also charged $190 per hour unless they are related to a legal process.
My involvement with attorneys or other parties engaged in a legal process, in any shape or form, as well as evaluations and reviews of evaluations or interviews for use in courts, are charged $260 per hour, except for testimony-related tasks, that are charged $350 per hour. A retainer is required for forensic evaluations.
Although I am an out-of-network provider at this time, I am considering becoming an in-network provider for some insurance companies. For now, for psychotherapy, you are responsible for payment in full at each visit, and for submitting my receipts for reimbursement (at the out-of-network provider rate) if you wish to do so. Bills for forensic work, including forensic psychological evaluations, will not be submitted to insurance companies.
Checks, cash, credit/debit cards, and HSA/FSA cards are accepted. I use US Bank/Elavon to secure your transaction, whether it is made through a terminal in my office or online. Psychotherapy payments are expected to be made in my office on the day of your visit. Retainer payments can be made by check, cash, or credit/debit card (and an HSA/FSA card for non-forensic evaluations only); credit/debit card payments can be made online through my website.
If you do not come to your scheduled psychotherapy appointment, and if you have not cancelled it at least 48 business hours in advance, you will be required to pay the full cost of the service scheduled. My policy for cancellations for court-related work will be spelled out in the Agreement you will sign when retaining my services.
Requesting an Appointment Online
You may request an appointment by phone or online here. I will contact you by telephone to schedule the appointment.
I do not engage in any form of electronic communication with therapy clients. For forensic work, email is the best way to communicate with attorneys and clients in situations where all should be equally involved and informed.
